Gavin Turek

[/vc_column_text][vc_empty_space][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]Madame Gold is a superhero armored in a 70’s aesthetic. Puffy hair that shines even during the dimmest of days, a spunk that leaves jaws on the floor, and a level of self-assurance that would compel fate to bend at her will. The child who grew up with posters of Grace Jones, Renee Cox, Tina Turner, Diana Ross, and other Black, strong, creative heroines grew up and embodied those who influenced her. Madame Gold is who Gavin Turek wants to be, who can’t see that she already is.[/vc_column_text][vc_empty_space][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]Madame Gold, the album, is one of the best albums of the year. Mixing 70’s funk and disco with elements of modern R&B, Gavin Turek created a glimmery, soulful hideout for her alter ego to confide in. The first single, “Slide” featuring the highly underrated bLAck pARty encompasses the idea of not being discouraged on the journey to happiness and sonically fusing the old with the new in an enjoyable and groovy way.[/vc_column_text][vc_empty_space][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]

Eimizah

[/vc_column_text][vc_empty_space][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]I am a staunch believer in the idea that a great feature is still an effective way to get new listeners. Lord knows how often I look at my phone after hearing a fantastic hook or verse, and I audible yell, “Who the fuck is this?” as I search for the artist name on Spotify. It’s a sugary experience that heightens both the eagerness to hear something new, but the anxiousness to hear the ability that gave that rush of joy in the first place.[/vc_column_text][vc_empty_space][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]So when I heard Eimizah’s sharp vocals on Flozigg’s single “Inner Peace” cutting through, my ears perked up. Her voice is layered perfectly underneath Floziggs vocals and provides a soothing texture to the record. Eimizah croons as if she’s speaking to herself in the mirror. She is expanding on how her destination of growth and success is based on her being comfortable with herself. Go to her EP A Rose From E, and the stand-out track “Alone” expands on sentimentally. She is accompanied by therapeutic keys purging all the tensions. Eimizah toes the line between self-preservation and attachment.[/vc_column_text][vc_empty_space][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]

Phoenix James

[/vc_column_text][vc_empty_space][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]One of my favorite traits from Miami Based, Phoenix James is her maturity. No matter the theme, the lyrics, the genre, her maturity is the silhouette that sets the foundation for everything she releases. She is always  looking to make her songs more profound and introspective, reaching for perspectives that show experience that an average 18-year-old doesn’t have.[/vc_column_text][vc_empty_space][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]Make no mistake about it, Phoenix James has all the makings to be a star. Her latest single, “Grow,” highlights her versatility. Strings instantly cast a spell on you, weaving in & out of its seams, creating soft yet dynamic instrumentation. Phoenix’s voice suspends the magic but allures you with sureness. The trumpet in the background is minimal, adding to a guitar-heavy texture. Very much stitched in the threads of folk, the instrumentation weaves in & out between ethereal and timeless. Innocent and scarred.[/vc_column_text][vc_empty_space][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]https://open.spotify.com/artist/4ccuoNDrKJ85JUWxl5HJfP?si=uOtdPeSUQ_6I7iYHarwUqQ[/vc_column_text][vc_empty_space][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]https://open.spotify.com/artist/17czHqI0Lwj2V3htvm8afG?si=Ggulv_3ARWWVqnn6msvmCQ[/vc_column_text][vc_empty_space][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]https://open.spotify.com/artist/3lvD3A9t2jhvnSSLZI4baM?si=e1YJwadvSwi2h2vYAp5jhA[/vc_column_text][vc_empty_space][/vc_column][/vc_row]
