SXSW 2020 – Quarantine Playlist

Today, Thursday March 19, 2020, the team and I were supposed to be at our first SXSW in Austin, Texas. We’ve been planning this trip for weeks setting a strict itinerary of what we were doing each day, to the minute! 2 weeks before our flight out of LA to Austin, we learned that the festival altogether has been ultimately cancelled (for the first time in 34 years), a decision made by Austin city officials to protect its residents from the coronavirus. Since that moment, that’s when the coronavirus became really real (at least to me) as it has escalated rapidly in the media and our global community. Like the rest of the world, SXSW and the city of Austin is highly affected as the festival cancellation resulted in a huge amount of layoffs and loss of millions in revenue for local businesses.
 

 
While we wait for brighter days ahead and as we get through these days of quarantines and lockdowns, we just wanted to share our Spotify playlist of SXSW artists that we were looking forward to meeting and seeing perform live. Check it out and support these emerging artists by streaming and sharing!
