I Saw Zedd Live… and It Was Not At All What I Expected

Last week, I was on a trip with some friends in Las Vegas with a pre-planned itinerary dictating everywhere I would go for the weekend. All I knew was that I was going to a Zedd concert on Saturday night, that he was the ex-boyfriend of Selena Gomez, and that he created the song of the summer in 2018. I’m not going to lie, I had slightly low expectations, but boy, was I proven wrong.

Crammed up against tall and sweaty strangers in a dark club is my worst nightmare. I am the type of person who needs space to dance, to move, and even breathe; however, as soon as Zedd came on stage, oxygen was no longer the priority.

It seems silly to say, but Zedd was one of the most entertaining, sensory, and fun concerts I have been to in a while. Not only did he have a killer lighting concept for every song he played, but he accompanied it with amazing visuals and an incredible ability to interact and have fun with the crowd.

Zedd played a variety of songs, all from different genres and decades. From Lil Nas X’s “Industry Baby” to Dua Lipa’s “Break My Heart” to AC/DC’s “Thunderstruck,” I was never disappointed with his song selection, as well as his ability to mix the track to make it his own. The crowd was constantly dancing, entertained, and engaged, and for the two hours he played, I forgot I was in a crowded room with complete strangers.

I may have left the concert practically deaf and my feet feeling like they were going to fall off, but it was surprisingly worth it. For the rest of the trip, all I wanted to do was see Zedd again, and I’m grateful I made the decision to go. If you ever have a chance to see Zedd in concert, definitely take it.
