Who Is Honoré? [Artist Interview]

Honoré (pronounced ‘honor-ray’) is a refreshing talent that is the whole package. A singer, songwriter, producer and performer, Honoré has toured and performed on stages across the world. Traklife first encountered his smooth melodies and vocals for a MYX Christmas project that we produced and Honoré delivered with style and ease. After that collaboration, we felt like we had to sit down and hear his story. Check out the conversation below:

Where does the name Honoré come from?

Honoré is actually my last name. My family and friends thought it would be cool and unique [to] use it as my stage name. I’ve been using it ever since.

How would you describe your sound? What influenced it?

My sound is definitely R&B, a mixture of 90’s and late R&b vibes [for] sure! My biggest musical influence is Prince. I also love Pharrell Williams, H.E.R, , Shoh Aalegra, Usher, Miguel, and Bruno Mars

As a artist/singer/songwriter/producer, do you classify yourself as one more than the other? Do you enjoy one more than the other?

I’m all three. As a student of Prince, singing, writing, and producing comes natural[ly to] me. Nobody knows more about the music within [you] than yourself. No sure if I love one more than the other — I’m just grateful that I can create authentic music from my heart.

What do you want people to take away from your music?

My hope is that the people who listen [to] my music will understand that it’s coming from a sincere place. Everything I create is authentic [to] my brand. I pray that they will become real fans and support me on this musical journey.

You’ve performed on plenty of stages, who’s an artist you’d like to go on tour with?

I’d love [to] tour with H.E.R, Alicia Keys, Usher, Tank, Snoh Aalegra. I’m gonna manifest that!

In your career, what would you classify as your biggest struggle and how do you plan to overcome it?

My biggest struggle is finding my niche in the music business. I’m feeling more comfortable with my R&B music, my image, and my positive vibes. Why not be the best [you] that [you] can be!

You’ve had a stretch of singles released the past few years. Which is your favorite so far?

My favorite singles so far are : “Comeback,” “Cassette,” “The First Time,” “Purple.”

For new potential new fans that are discovering you and your music for the first time, which songs would you suggest they listen to first?

[To] get the 1st taste of Honoré I suggest they listen [to] “Purple!” it’s that Honoreezy sexy vibe!

What’s next for Honoré?

My nest step is to continue to tour, I plan [to] do more shows internationally [and] continue to promote my new album, Purple, and build my fanbase.

Big shoutout to Honoré on sharing his story with Traklife and continuing to live out his passion for music. You’ll see more coming from Traklife and Honoré so stay tuned for new music, content, shows, and more.
