“Homesick Feelin'” – Single Review

[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]Up-and-comer SAGE (real name: Sage Siegel) has just released “Homesick Feelin,’” the first single off her upcoming debut EP. 

“Homesick Feelin’” is a song about feeling like you’re reliving the same day over and over again. After a year of staying inside, many people will be able to relate to the lyrics. “I thought it was impossible // but now it’s all I know // homesick feeling in my home,” she sings over a melancholy guitar melody. 

In a press release about the song, SAGE shared, “Like most of us during the pandemic, I was stuck at home, missing the busy life I had prior to the world shutting down. I created the concept of this song because although being homesick is usually when you’re missing home, it could also be interpreted as feeling sick of being stuck at home. It was hard seeing some of the world going out, living their normal lives, while I was doing my best to stay inside and remain safe.”

Like all young artists these days, the 17-year-old singer got her start online with YouTube videos and TikToks where she covered popular songs. She went viral earlier this year with a cover of Vance Joy’s “Riptide.” The video got about half a million views. 

“Homesick Feelin’” is a strong debut for a young artist like this. I can’t wait to hear more when her EP drops!
