kate the dreamer Grows Up
[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]kate the dreamer has had a big year. Following the release of a handful of singles, she finally released her biggest project yet: her debut EP, “where’d all my wild things go?”
When asked about the inspirations behind the EP, kate referred to themes like personal growth and change.
“Once I wrote ‘wild things,’ that really opened up this greater idea of losing that sense of childhood and losing this younger version of yourself that doesn’t judge yourself,” she shared. “I’m 28 and it’s been a lot of growth in the past couple years. People always tell me ‘one year in your twenties feels like ten’ and it really does!”
The EP, which started as a break-up project before morphing into a study on growing up, continues that theme of losing childhood throughout. Whether she’s thinking about the life that might have been (“Even If (Intro)”) or grappling with growing pains (“Call U When I Land”), it’s clear that kate is focusing on big changes.

She was living in Connecticut, working a 9-5, and playing in a band alongside her partner. After the pair broke up, she took a trip to the West Coast and decided it was time to do something big.
“When else [was] I going to be able to do something like this, where I [could] fully immerse myself in the life I’ve always wanted to live, but always been scared to do?” kate asked. So, she ditched her life in Connecticut and came to LA, where “everything started falling into place.”
“I’m a big spiritual type of person,” she mused. “I believe everything that you need finds you and I really believe that [of] the life that I manifested for myself here in LA…too many things worked out where I was like, ‘Okay, this is where you’re supposed to be.’”

“I’d love to tour,” she listed, saying that a live show last year showed her how special performing her songs for an audience can be. She also shared that there is new music in the works, along with some exciting collaborations.
“My hope is that this music finds people who really need it,” kate continued. “I obviously want to expand my audience but I want it to find the right people. I want to connect with people, I want to feel like my music is making a difference in people’s lives.”
