Remembering Amy Winehouse

Certain names just ring a bell. Some are clouded with controversy, while others are guided by the marks they’ve made in history. With that being said. What comes to your mind when you hear the name Amy Winehouse? “A talent gone before her time” would be a vague, yet unbiased statement. “A woman, whose unique voice narrated her life through love and heartache”. What about the harsh headlines that once told a story of a hurt, damaged singer, whose personal life subsequently overshadowed her soulful contralto voice. Regardless of how you put it. Amy Winehouse, born in Southgate, London, became a household name back in the early 2000s.

A singer and songwriter whose songs like “Rehab”, was Time Magazines “Best Song in 2007”. Her uncanny style and her popular  beehive bun became a huge fashion trend in its own right. Whatever comes to your mind when you hear her name, one fact remains, there will never be another singer/songwriter like her. So on this day, September 14, 2016, let’s celebrate her life by indulging in some of her classics. Check out my top 5 Amy Winehouse songs.
