On November 8th, Indie-pop icon Rauly released his new EP, \u2018Your Love.\u2019 Rauly continues his rise to the top with powerful lyrics, strong beats, catchy hooks, and phenomenal vocals. He uses the pop style made prevalent in the 1980s by legends such as Hall & Oats and George Michael.<\/span><\/p>

Rauly kicks off his project with his single, \u2018Your Love.\u2019 This track shows Rauly reminiscing on memories with a past lover, realizing that all he wanted was her love, after making a mistake, saying words he can\u2019t unsay. Rauly faces his mistakes head-on, professing his love and hoping for another chance. Rauly informed me of this EP after meeting him at a concert. While cruising home on the Brooklyn-Queens Expressway, I listened to the project. As soon as I heard the beat for \u2018Your Love\u2019, I knew he had a hit. Rauly\u2019s vocals and deep lyrics form a perfect ode to the love song of the 80s. The rhyme scheme during the chorus kept me hooked on this track, it has been a real earworm for me these past two weeks. This track shows that classic indie-pop is here to stay.<\/span><\/p>

The EP flips on a dime with \u2018Turn it On.\u2019 Unlike the first track, this song is much slower, with a chill vibe. This track contains some inspirational lyrics, giving this song a great message. Rauly inspires listeners to overcome their internal obstacles. Rauly discusses his past with critics, citing that you must prove them wrong and keep moving to succeed. This song tells the listener to keep belief in themselves, that there is light at the end of the tunnel, and eventually everyone will see them shine.<\/span><\/p>

The decision to go from the upbeat \u2018Your Love\u2019 to the slower \u2018Turn it On\u2019 was a great call. Coming off the high of Your Love, this song brought me back down to Earth. We all have dealt with self-doubt and not feeling appreciated for our work, which continues the reliability of this EP. <\/span><\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

\u2018Magic\u2019 continues the EP and capitalizes on the messages of the first two tracks. Magic contains a beat similar to the style Glass Animals made famous, that slow electronic beat highlighting the magnitude of the lyrics. Rauly discusses how it always gets better, with bright days ahead. I loved the line, \u201cIf you believe we have it, tell me what we\u2019re waiting for.\u201d Rauly questions the idea of love here, saying if you believe there is a connection between us, then what are we waiting for? This track beautifully continues the overall message of the EP, with great sound and bars throughout.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u2018Grow Up\u2019 caught me off guard. The beginning of the track contains a distinct loud sound that catches your ear. This track tackles the idea of overthinking and growing up, facing the harsh reality that all of us face. Rauly faces the fact that he just has to keep pushing in life to accomplish his goals. This song continues the trend of strong beats, vocals, and overall message.<\/span><\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

\u2018I\u2019m Right Here\u2019 is straight to the point with its message. Rauly starts by asking if somebody will love him and if someone will care. He continues the romantic style of the EP by maturing from the previous track and facing the facts of his feelings. Rauly is truly finishing the EP strong here, with one song to go, it is clear that he has grown a lot within the story of the project.<\/span><\/p>

\u2018Get Up\u2019 finishes the EP in the strongest way possible. This song has a much faster pace, ending the EP the way it started. Rauly shows that he has finished the character development of the album, saying he is not afraid anymore, and says that it took time for him to understand, but now he is doing things he never could. Rauly goes from begging for love at the beginning of the project to facing the fact that he is important and of value with or without love. This track truly wraps up the EP and its story perfectly.<\/span><\/p>

\u2018Your Love\u2019 by Rauly is a remarkable project. The EP contains a distinct sound we haven\u2019t heard in a long time which adds to its identity. The storytelling of the project reads like a book with each song as a chapter of Rauly\u2019s story. The lyrics on this project coincide with stellar storytelling with clever rhyme schemes, meaningful phrases, and perfect delivery. Rauly\u2019s vocals on this EP are extraordinary, he shows that he is built for the indie-pop genre, and continues his <\/span>promising career with an amazing addition to his resume.<\/span><\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
