kate the dreamer lives up to her name with a dreamy new music video for \u201cPlastic Heart Pt. 1\u201d and \u201cPt. 2.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The first video, scored by \u201cPt. 1\u201d of the self-reflective pair of songs, shows kate wandering through a forest and scaling mountains, singing the self-searching lyrics. The verses’ production is hazy, matching the fairytale-esque feel the singer\u2019s outfits and movements have. As heavier guitar riffs enter in the chorus, we see kate rocking out, exorcizing her demons.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n
As kate the dreamer sings, \u201cYou\u2019re not gonna save me \/ I don\u2019t need your bravery,\u201d the camera moves upward slowly, making her appear to take flight into the cloudless sky above her.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cPlastic Heart Pt. 2\u201d sees kate on her knees in the same forest, furiously digging as the sun goes down. The track, a woozy instrumental that makes the listener feel like they\u2019re waking up from a dream, contrasts with the urgency kate has as she digs.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n
By the end of the video, kate uncovers what she\u2019s been looking for: her plastic heart, splattered with blood.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Both parts of \u201cPlastic Heart\u201d portray the way it can feel to truly look at yourself, warts and all, and end up liking what you see.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n
