This project sees OSTON evolve and mature as an artist. She takes the lyricism she\u2019s been fine tuning since 2018\u2019s <\/span>Sitting at the Kids Table<\/span><\/i><\/a> and cranks it up to eleven.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

The songs swing from high to low, from needy to independent. On the title track, she wonders \u201cDo you like me? Do you want me? \/\/ Do you need me to shut up?\u201d She pivots to indifference on \u201cHypocrite!\u201d: \u201cMaybe we\u2019re better as friends \/\/ \u2018cause I think you\u2019re pretty annoying.\u201d\u00a0<\/span>[\/vc_column_text][\/vc_column][\/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_empty_space][\/vc_column][\/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_video link=”https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=ABA2CV_XxzA” align=”center”][\/vc_column][\/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_empty_space][\/vc_column][\/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]Each song follows this pattern of turning tables. She gleefully calls out posers on \u201cI Think You Should Leave,\u201d then descends into self-doubt on \u201cSour.\u201d While the tone shifts could feel jarring, OSTON handles it wonderfully. Every song feels real and authentic.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Speaking about the project, OSTON shares, \u201c\u2018<\/span>Am I Talking Too Much?<\/span><\/i>\u2019 is a project detailing the ins-and-outs of my brain, where I worry that I\u2019m going to ruin literally anything and everything good that\u2019s within my grip. A lot of the time, I feel like I talk just to fill in life\u2019s awkward silences. I spent a lot of time reflecting on how talking \u201ctoo much\u201d and overthinking are such big characteristics of mine, and part of what makes me who I am.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

She continues, \u201cAs humans, we\u2019re all a little messed up in our own ways \u2013 but we\u2019re allowed to be flawed and anxious and cranky and to feel our feelings. Writing this project helped me to see that while I have somewhat of an understanding of who I am and my purpose in this world, it doesn\u2019t necessarily define who I have to be for the rest of my life. And that maybe the people who love and accept me for that are the people I really want in my life anyways.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

With viral moments on TikTok, music videos playing on MTV, and a recent performance slot at Lollapalooza, OSTON is gaining attention and a following. With the release of this EP, she\u2019s proven she deserves it all.<\/span><\/p>\n
