The group managed to record and release an EP, appropriately named <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/open.spotify.com\/album\/6tjwdDsjnG6RNFdt0qXHmd?si=LPuGvbbRR2iSqtf9Zy_Avw\"><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Remote<\/span><\/i><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, play a handful of virtual \u201clive\u201d shows, and put out some truly wacky music videos.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">All that, and yet they\u2019re still hard at work! The band just released the deluxe version of <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Remote<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, with three new tracks, including new single \u201cQuarterback.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u201cQuarterback\u201d shares the same quirky, pop production that the rest of the EP\u2019s songs have, along with lyrics that are fun to sing, but take some time to untangle.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u201c\u2018Cause summer\u2019s gone \/\/\u00a0 I\u2019m alone wishin\u2019 \/\/ for your call \/\/ starting to freak \/\/ I\u2019m not sure if he\u2019s comin\u2019 over for the night \/\/ Quarterback\u2019s fine,\u201d drummer Cole Preston sing-songs on the chorus, the upbeat production masking the uncertainty and anxiety of the lyrics.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Singer and guitar player Dylan Minnette <a href=\"https:\/\/faroutmagazine.co.uk\/wallows-share-new-single-quarterback\/\">told Zane Lowe<\/a>, \u201cCole started this idea a long time ago, probably years ago. Honestly, we\u2019ve always really liked it, but then last year when we were doing <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Remote<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, that got brought back into question, and we were sort of trying to self-produce that one, where the other ones we were working on them with other people. <\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">We decided, \u2018Ah, it doesn\u2019t fit enough with the rest of the songs.\u2019 So by the time, <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Remote<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> came out, we were just like, \u2018Well, I feel like these other songs we started, including \u2018Quarterback\u2019, aren\u2019t necessarily going to work on the next thing we\u2019re making, the next album. Also, what\u2019s the point of holding things over?\u2019 We used to be like: we\u2019ll just wait to put it out.
