The original version is featured on the group\u2019s sophomore album <\/span>conversations with myself about you<\/span><\/i>, released last summer.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

“‘buzz cut’ is about having an instant connection with someone,” says frontman<\/a>\u00a0<\/span>Mitchy Collins<\/span><\/a>. “You don’t need or care to know anything about each other’s past. It’s all about giving yourself up to the moment.”<\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

The song tells the story of one summer – \u201cthe summer of the buzz cut,\u201d as the group sings – with someone special who doesn\u2019t stick around. \u201cSometimes you don\u2019t know what you got \/\/ Sometimes you don\u2019t believe it \/\/ Sometimes you don\u2019t know what you got \/\/ until you see her leaving,\u201d Collins sings over electric guitar riffs.\u00a0<\/span>[\/vc_column_text][\/vc_column][\/vc_row][vc_row css_animation=”” row_type=”row” use_row_as_full_screen_section=”no” type=”full_width” angled_section=”no” text_align=”left” background_image_as_pattern=”without_pattern”][vc_column][vc_empty_space][vc_video link=”https:\/\/youtu.be\/BvhD0gh9NcE?list=TLGGqprzUevsmjkyOTAxMjAyMQ” align=”center”][\/vc_column][\/vc_row][vc_row css_animation=”” row_type=”row” use_row_as_full_screen_section=”no” type=”full_width” angled_section=”no” text_align=”left” background_image_as_pattern=”without_pattern”][vc_column][vc_empty_space][vc_column_text]\u201c\u2018buzz cut\u2019 is definitely one of our favorite tracks on the album,\u201d the group told 1883 magazine<\/a>. \u201cWe wanted to create a song that felt good and reminded us of the alternative music from the early 2000\u2019s that we fell in love with”<\/span><\/p>\n

The collaboration between the two groups has been a long time coming: Collins and MisterWives vocalist Mandy Lee are old friends.<\/span><\/p>\n

“”I’ve known Mitchy for…dare I say…a decade?” Lee says<\/a>. “And I’m so stoked for lovelytheband and all they’ve achieved together and hope one day we can sing ‘buzz cut’ live when it’s safe.”<\/span><\/p>\n
