It became her first entry on the Billboard Hot 100 and got the attention of Niall Horan<\/a>, which led to a remix featuring his vocals. \u201cSave Myself\u201d takes her heartfelt lyrics and delicate vocals and adds a more anthemic feel.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cI know everything worked out \/\/ the way it\u2019s meant to be \/\/ but honestly \/\/ if I had the chance \/\/ I would take it back,\u201d she muses on the pre-chorus. \u201cCoulda saved myself from you.\u201d\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cI look at \u2018Save Myself\u2019 as the precursor to \u2018Moral of the Story\u2019 instead of the follow up,\u201d she said about the song. \u201cPeople say there are five stages of grief; I wrote \u2018Moral Of The Story\u2019 in the fifth stage of grieving my relationship: acceptance. \u2018Save Myself\u2019 (although, written post \u2018Moral\u2019) is about my second stage: anger. It means the world to have a chance to express the anger I felt in a healthy way, because whether we like it or not, our anger demands to be felt and let out.\u201d\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

The lyrics are cutting, but delivered in Ashe\u2019s typical off-hand style. \u201cI coulda saved myself \/\/ time and lots of money,\u201d she shrugs. \u201cI shouldn\u2019t blame myself \/\/ I kinda saw it coming.\u201d There\u2019s no weepiness; just the sense that she wishes she hadn\u2019t wasted any time.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cSave Myself\u201d proves that Ashe isn\u2019t just a one-hit wonder. Moving towards a bigger sound was a great next step for her; this is leading her towards another radio-friendly single, while still retaining her individual musical style.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n
