In anticipation of her new era, Del Rey dropped \u201cChemtrails Over The Country Club,\u201d the title track of her upcoming album scheduled to release in March.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

This single does what Del Rey does best: enchant her listeners with dark undertones and glamorous and glitzy lyricism. The single reflects on Del Rey\u2019s time with her family friends, playing under the chemtrails which float over their heads as they sip drinks and play by the pool: \u201cWearin\u2019 our jewels in the swimming pool \/\/ me and my sister just playin\u2019 it cool \/\/ under the chemtrails over the country club.\u201d\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

\u201cI hear [the album] <\/span>Chemtrails<\/span><\/i> and I think \u201cwork\u201d, but I also think of my stunning girlfriends, who so much of the album is about, and my beautiful siblings,\u201d said Del Rey about the song. \u2018\u201cChemtrails\u201d is the title track because it mentions wanting so much to be normal and realizing that when you have an overactive, eccentric mind, a record like <\/span>Chemtrails <\/span><\/i>is just what you\u2019re going to get.\u201d\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

The single was accompanied by a very Lana Del Reyesque music video, complete with diamonds, vintage cars, and Americana glamour. As we watch scenes of decadence and gaud, the video slowly transitions to an American Horror Story style nightmare complete with werewolves, fire, and tornados. In much of her past music, Del Rey has touched on the dark undertones of decadence and refinement. \u201cChemtrails\u201d takes a slightly more direct approach, as she and her friends transition from poolside debutants to wild and fierce werewolves of the forest.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

To introduce her new album, Del Rey started off with a catchy, melodic, and downright dreamy single. While her singles have never proven to be the greatest tracks on her albums, \u201cChemtrail Over The Country Club\u201d sets the stage for an unforgettable new era.
