Pittsburgh’s favorite female, queer, Thai rapper has reached yet another milestone in her young career.<\/p>\n

In September 2022, Lys Scott announced her partnership with Crafted Sounds, a local Pittsburgh record label. Scott is releasing a deluxe version of her debut album squashed dreams and broken wings<\/em> on her birthday, October 24, through Crafted Sounds.<\/p>\n

“Oo it ain\u2019t a secret,” Scott teased in an Instagram post<\/a>. “@craftedsounds<\/a> has added my debut album squashed dreams & broken wings<\/em> to their arsenal! I\u2019m super proud of this moment and I\u2019m really honored to have this work highlighted.”<\/p>\n

In the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic in 2020, Lys Scott was looking for outlets to wrestle with her anxiety and depression, to work through the mental disparity that often comes with isolation. As her ideas were put to paper, music became a source of healing and self-expression for her over time.<\/p>\n

She began writing, recording, and performing her original songs throughout the Pittsburgh area, forming the band Lys Scott Deluxe with some of her friends. Lys has released numerous singles and two albums independently, but this deluxe re-release of squashed dreams & broken wings <\/em>will be the first time her music will be distributed by a record label. <\/p>\n

The deluxe version of squashed dreams & broken wings <\/em>will feature two additional tracks, “breathe in” and “turnaround” featuring Alent\u00e9 Giovanni, Sleep Movies, and Loop Zilla. Physical copies of the album in CD and cassette format are available for pre-order.<\/p>\n
