The beauty of an authentic artist is their desire to reach people through their music. For Nashville alternative pop artist TRNR, \u201cMusic is a way for me to empathize with the ones in the world who feel abandoned or discounted.\u201d Not only does TRNR\u2019s music give him a platform to emotionally relate to his audience, but also to empower them with the confidence he has found in his own life.<\/p>\n

On June 10, TRNR dropped his first EP,\u00a0NO MERCY<\/em><\/a>. The project features five new songs including his latest single, \u201cIDC<\/a>,\u201d which was released in April. The assertive energy of \u201cIDC,\u201d which was written to confront the negative opinions of others, is replicated throughout the rest of the EP.<\/p>\n

Back in April, I had the privilege of\u00a0connecting with TRNR<\/a>\u00a0and learning more about the heart behind his new music. He is a passionate young artist not afraid to explore his talents through a variety of musical styles. Major influences like Jack Harlow, Andy Grammer, Imagine Dragons, and Jon Bellion are reflected in his work.<\/p>\n

\u201cI loved being able to create and explore different genres through this process,\u201d he shared about the creation of\u00a0NO MERCY.<\/em>\u00a0\u201cWe just went into every session fresh, letting the music create itself.\u201d<\/p>\n

TRNR kicks off\u00a0NO MERCY\u00a0<\/em>by showcasing his rapid-fire rhymes on the EP\u2019s title track. Featuring a catchy hook and a fiery hip-hop beat, TRNR addresses the \u201cposers\u201d of the world who set unrealistic standards. Another standout track, \u201cMAN CARD\u201d cleverly sheds light on the superficial societal expectations placed on men. TRNR sings about redefining masculinity and breaking the stereotypes of what a man is \u2018supposed to be\u2019. If having a \u2018man card\u2019 means sacrificing self-expression, then it\u2019s not worth keeping.<\/p>\n

\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\"\"\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/p>\n

\u201cVOICES\u201d is an especially vulnerable moment on NO MERCY<\/em>. Set to a mid-tempo hip-hop beat, TRNR describes his fears and anxieties about transitioning into adulthood. The EP closes with a brief demo track, \u201cOCEAN.\u201d<\/p>\n

Speaking about the message of NO MERCY<\/em>, TRNR shared, \u201cI really want to inspire people to not be complacent with their so-called \u2018place in the world.\u2019 If you don\u2019t like who you are then change it. Don\u2019t let some arbitrary expectation keep you from being YOU.\u201d<\/p>\n
