At midnight on July 15, the Pittsburgh-based hip hop artist dropped \u201cThe City,\u201d which he views as \u201ca frustrating manifesto directed at Pittsburgh.\u201d The track is a fiery mixture of rap, hip hop, and punk elements that exude in-your-face energy.<\/p>\n

Roses draws inspiration from the humorous, yet emotionally complex work of artists like\u00a0JPEGMAFIA<\/a>\u00a0and\u00a0Zelooperz<\/a>, and \u201cThe City\u201d especially is reminiscent of\u00a0BROCKHAMPTON<\/a>\u2019s homemade sound.
